... trying to get everything together for 1) Passover and 2) a trip to Boston we're leaving on tomorrow. SO... instead of posting a full-on blog, I thought I'd ask a few (entirely self-serving) questions.
1. What's the best book to take on vacation?
2. What's your favorite thing to do in Boston?
3. If you were an 8-year-old girl, what would be your favorite thing to do in Boston?
4. What are your top five, downloadable roadtrip songs?
Answer any or all -- and Happy Passover, Easter, Spring, etc. etc, etc!
xo,
Alison
1. Any Henry VIII bio, because it'll last the entire time you're gone :)
2. I don't much care for Boston. You can't get anywhere from anywhere. You can see your destination, but there's no way to get there. I like cities built on grids, not old horsepaths.
3. Duck Tour. Hands down. We did that a few years back when Julia was about Marissa's age.
4. I don't download music. I am a Luddite. I have no iPod. Julia would probably suggest Lady Gaga. Or songs from Glee.

1. F My Life. (Trust me. You'll laugh your ass off.)
2. Mock Red Sox fans.
3. Visit The American Girl store.
4. Boom Boom Pow by BEP, Tenth Avenue Freezout by Mr. Springsteen, Vacation by The Go-Gos, Where The Streets Have No Name by U2 and The Long Way Around by Dixie Chicks.

1. You can't go wrong with anything by Marian Keyes.
2. While I agree with Karen — Boston is the unfriendliest city in America, with the possible exception of Philadelphia — the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum ALMOST makes up for it.
3. The New England Aquarium is also pretty cool.
4. "Brand New Cadillac" by the Clash, "Yeah Right," by the Reverend Horton Heat, "This Town" by the Go-Gos, "Song for a Girl Who Has One" by Too Much Joy, "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves and "Roadrunner" by The Modern Lovers.

3. The Museum of Science is great. The Boston Children's museum and the Aquarium are good too! Chinatown for Dim Sum is always fun too and afterwards you can pick up a chinese fan or dress. I like "China Pearl."

I'm not sure you'll see this, but here goes:
1. Anything by The Lipstick Chronicles ladies, Donna Andrews and Ellen Byerrum (i.e., funny mysteries)
2. I love Boston and haven't been there in a while. We enjoyed going to a Red Sox game, and I liked the Patriot Walk and Paul Revere's House.
3. I second the Duck Tour. Goes on land and water, and everyone aboard seems to have a good time. Talk to Hank too. I bet she has some ideas for fun places to go.
4. DRIVE - Incubus
ALL I WANNA DO - Sheryl Crow
RIDE LIKE THE WIND - Christopher Cross
KILLER QUEEN - Queen
YOU KNOW I'M NO GOOD - Amy Winehouse
THIS LOVE - Maroon 5
