So on Friday, I went into NYC after work and ate Chinese food with the MWA Board -- of which three of the five First Offenders are members. Don't mean to rub it in, Neil, but we had a blast. And Jim Born stood in for you, which is bound to make you feel some way or another but nonetheless... good times. Over Tsing Taos and various meat dishes (Jeff and Lori are scared of vegetables) we thought about blog ideas. One we came up with was just posting a picture of Jim under the heading "Thoughts?" We figured it would get yus a lot of comments. Sadly though, outside of the ones I'm saving for blackmail purposes, I have no pics of Jim Born. But the good news is, I can write THOUGHTS at the top of a page with the best of 'em. So, if you could humor me, I'd LOVE to get your thoughts on just three topics....
1. Edgar nominees!! Yep, they're out today and they look like a damn good batch to me. You?
2. Golden Globes. Was Julia Roberts drunk? If you were going to the Golden Globes, would you get drunk? And also, did you see Mariah's dress? Do you think she took the whole Golden Globes thing a little too literally?
And finally, the one that leaves me speechless....
3. Erik Menendez is an artist.
Talk to me. And enjoy your Tuesday.
I am speechless after looking at Erik Menendez's artwork. Twilight paintings? And didn't someone think to edit the "Painting's" link?
Megan Abbott should win the Edgar for PBO. Just saying.
I did not see the Golden Globes. Julia Roberts drunk? Really? Now I have to Google it.

Kate Hudson's dress looked like it was molded out of plastic. There was a lot of goofy stuff going on.
And what Karen said. Just repeating.

Whoever created Eric Menendez's website needs a lesson in the use of apostrophes: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/apostrophe
The Golden Globes are fraudulent from beginning to end. If Julia Roberts was drunk, I applaud that. I'd be drunk too. But I did like Kate Hudson's dress.

Those Edgar Award nominees are hazardous to my budget. I just got a Kindle. It would be so easy to go online right now and download the ones I haven't read.
Oh yes, Karen... there were more golden globes barely contained inside dresses than there were handed out to winners. Is Fergie a 4D??
I hope some of the people that Ricky Gervais skewered have good sense of humor.
Mickey Rourke grabbed Mike Tyson's face and kissed him. He's lucky that Tyson didn't bite off an ear. Why was Tyson at this show?
I'm not only speechless about Menendez, I'm typeless so no further comment.
Back to Kindle downloads... Even though I'm going to walk into a bookstore and buy No Mercy the first chance I get (Thursday morning since I don't have a real bookstore in the Keys) I couldn't wait. It was my first download to the new Kindle. GREAT book, Lori. I already knew that from the early manuscript but still. GREAT BOOK!

More Thoughts: I am very sad that Robert B. Parker passed away. I've been a Spenser devotee for practically 30 years.

1. I am woefully uneducated about this year's Edgar nominees.
2. When do I not try to get drunk?
3. I wonder what Lyle is doing.
